ND stands for Neurodivergent.
Being neurodivergent means your brain works in beautifully unique ways. It means you experience the world differently—thinking, feeling, sensing, and processing in ways that might not match the “norm,” but are just as valid, powerful, and important. This includes individuals that have ADHD, dyslexia, dysgraphia and/or on the Autism spectrum.
Neurodivergence isn’t a flaw or something to “fix.” It’s a natural part of human diversity, bringing creativity, deep focus, innovative problem-solving, and perspectives that challenge the status quo. It’s the reason we have groundbreaking artists, thinkers, and change-makers.But being neurodivergent can also mean navigating a world that wasn’t built with you in mind. It can mean masking, exhaustion, and being misunderstood. If that’s your experience, know this: You are not alone. Your needs are valid. Your way of being is enough.
You don’t have to fit into neurotypical expectations to be worthy of respect, love, and success. You deserve spaces where you can be fully yourself—where your strengths are celebrated, your struggles are met with compassion, and you don’t have to apologize for how you move through the world.
Being neurodivergent means being YOU. And that is more than enough! -
‘Stimming’ is short for self-stimulatory behaviour and it refers to:
repetitive movements, sounds, or activities that help regulate emotions, process sensory input, or provide comfort.
For neurodivergent folk of all ages (including adults!!), stimming can be a valuable tool for self-regulation, focus, and stress relief. Some common forms of stimming include:Hand flapping or finger flicking
Rocking or swaying
Tapping fingers, feet, or objects
Repeating words or sounds (echolalia)
Playing with fidget toys, jewellery, or textured fabrics
Listening to the same song on repeat
Humming or vocalising
Hair twirling or skin rubbing or skin picking
Stimming is a natural and valid way for neurodivergent adults to navigate the world. Instead of trying to suppress it, creating sensory-friendly spaces and embracing these behaviours can lead to greater comfort and self-acceptance.
